Perks of Being a Wallflower Movie

Summit Entertainment has greenlit a movie adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the epistolary novel written by Stephen Chbosky. The story revolves around the teenager Charlie, it explores the awkward times of adolescence, including drug use and sexuality. The film will be directed by Stephen Chbosky himself. Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) got the lead role as Charlie. Emma Watson also joined the cast, she will play Charlie's first love. Filming of the movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower is set to start in Summer 2011, so we may hope a release in 2012.

Plot:
"The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a coming of age story about 15-year-old Charlie (Logan Lerman), an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs."

The film will touch mature themes: it will be interesting to see how Logan Lerman and Emma Watson adapt to more demanding roles.
